Boston D Party
As the Democrats meet for their Convention in Boston you have to wonder what the shitting-hells going on? Who’s on the line-up? Ron Reagan (no not the dead Gipper, his son), Madeline Albright, Bill Clinton (aka Slick Willy), and the ethically-challenged Ted Kennedy are amongst the star line-up, before the filthy rich Heinz woman and her wooden husband get cranked up on stage.
Before we get too excited about this ‘alternative’ to the Republicans a few points worth recalling.
Albright should be remembered for her amazing (and at the time) widely condemned remarks she made during on interview on 5th Dec 1996, for the 60 Minutes television program.
On the theme of US sanctions against Iraq, Lesley Stahl asked her: "We have heard that half a million children have died. I mean, that's more children than died in Hiroshima. And, you know, is the price worth it?"
Albright replied:
"I think this is a very hard choice, but the price - we think the price is worth it."
Not very homely is it?
If we you have a wee peak at the war-supporting Democrats it’s not very difficult to discern a glimmer of difference between them and the GOP. Okay, they might not be gunning for any country that steps out of line, and they cliam that they'll respect international law (hey wow), and they must be better than Bush, right?
Isn’t that what we said about Blair?
