News from Caracas

After delays where voters had to wait for up to seven hours to vote it looks as if beleaguered incumbent President Hugo Chávez has won his bid for backing. Around 80% of the country's 14 million registered voters took part in the referendum to decide whether to recall the president, Chávez who has faced constant undermining from forces within (and outwith) Venezuela.
