PATRIOT GAMES
It looks like the weekends opening of the new parliament could have been a lot livelier. The Herald reports: “Three men have appeared in court on firearms charges after being arrested near Edinburgh on the day the Queen opened the new Scottish Parliament building. It is understood two were arrested by armed police at the south end of the Forth road bridge as a result of intelligence gathered by Grampian Police as part of a major operation, which has been running for some time.”
The Scotsman speculates “Extremist nationalist activity has been causing police concern for some time. An anti-English campaign group, based in Aberdeen, recently applied to Aberdeen City Council to request a St Andrew’s Day celebration march in Union Street at the same time and place as one planned by the National Front. The Scottish Patriots group, which campaigns to "bring an end to England’s stranglehold over our homeland", requested permission for the march last month.” Suspicion rests on two organisations: the Scottish Patriots and Scottish Resistance.
But if the Patriots stencilling advice is anything to go by the British State can rest easy in its sleep: “To make your own disposable stencils you need only acquire some large-ish cardboard boxes, a craft or 'Stanley' knife, pencil, ruler, and a flat cutting surface. Draw a vertical line down the dead centre of your board.
Arrange the lettering of your slogan between the lines of the thicker bands, one word to each band. Always start from the centre of the board and work outwards so that the vertical line runs through the centre of each word.
Pencil in your lettering, making them as thick as seems sensible. Be sure that you are satisfied with the position and content of your lettering, and be certain of your spelling! Round letters such as 'O' and 'Q' should be drawn as ovals.”
These guys are good! Why use the internet when stencils can do the job!
