BOYCOTT AMERICA

The fact that Bush would win the popular vote in the US is deeply disturbing. Kyoto is now doomed and useless. Invasionof Iran and Korea must be a real danger. Enviromentally it’s a fucking disaster. Food and water sources will become major problems due to purity, accessibility and security. The oil cabal has four more years.

There are other consequences. Financial markets will go into reverse, perhaps immediately and dramatically, with the dollar being particularly hard hit. Taxes will have to rise sharply in order to deal with the extra burden of spiralling, superfluous national security and military equipment expenditure.Public and private debt levels will continue to escalate steeply.

It makes you feel sick after the recent casualty figures of 100,000, and Abu Ghraib that the American people would support more of that. And, while several questions remain - not the least of which is: How did exit polls showing 3 or 4 point Kerry leads turn into a victory for Bush in Florida? The black arts of Republican vote manipulation can’t be to blame for it all.

Apart from anything else it leaves American society bitterly divided. Despite all the talk about “security moms” (it just sounded like “soccer moms”), it turns out that women voted decisively for Kerry. According to the CNN exit polls, 54 percent picked Kerry compared to 45 percent for Bush. Men, in comparison, picked Bush over Kerry, 52 to 47 percent. A majority of African Americans (90 percent), Asian Americans (61 percent) and Latinos (56 percent) picked Kerry over Bush.

So, who’s to blame? Stupid White Men…
