WAR CRIMINAL FACES CHARGES

And this the day after Blair became the first Prime Minister in 156 years to face a call for an impeachment investigation as 23 lawmakers accuse him of misconduct in taking Britain to war in Iraq.
Adam Price, (Plaid Cymru) and Alex Salmond (SNP), introduced a motion that sought an investigation into whether Blair should be impeached over the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

No comment was issued by Blair’s team at No 10.

He said before the war that Iraq had concealed weapons of mass destruction and defied United Nations resolutions ordering their destruction. The U.K. sent 45,000 soldiers to support the U.S.-led invasion Iraq, which was opposed by a million-strong anti-war march in London and protests by a third of the legislators from Blair's Labour Party.

“Today we make a stand for parliamentary democracy,'' Price said in a statement. ``We ask our colleagues and the people to help us restore the accountability of the government to Parliament.''
