But – ever vigilant – and always leading the way, New Labour’s jowly home secretary, Charles Clarke has it seems been forced to accept the rule of law that Belmarsh is, er, completely illegal. Yes as our allies return the four prisoners they’ve been torturing for the last four years the British Govt has been forced to do an about-turn and accept that the indefinite detention without trial of 12 terror suspects in Britain breaches human rights laws.
Bravo! Makes you dead proud doesn’t it?
Still if its justice and process of law your after there’s better news here in Scotland where that small matter of the overly-cosy relationship between our journalists and politicians has finally been cleared up.
