ANTI-WAR MUM TAKES ON BLAIR MINISTER
This from the Scottish Standard:
GRIEVING mum Rose Gentle will go head to head with armed forces minister Adam Ingram at the General Election on May 5.
The Scottish Standard can exclusively reveal that the anti-war campaigner, whose son Gordon was killed by a road-side bomb in Basra, will contest the Labour minister’s East Kilbride seat.
And this newspaper is backing her all the way – we have even donated £500 to her election campaign to pay for her deposit.
Rose will campaign on an anti-war ticket and will demand that all Scottish troops are pulled out of Iraq immediately.
The 40-year-old mum, who lives on Glasgow’s Pollok housing scheme, revealed she was spurred on to fight Ingram after his “arrogant” attitude towards her at a recent Scottish Labour Party conference, which she was barred from entering.
She said: “I had a brief word with Ingram, but I thought he was very arrogant. He wasn’t listening to me – but he will now."
After Blair has refused to meet with Rose Camcorder Guerrillas have created Rose masks, so that wherever Blair goes he can be met with her.
