MAKING A KILLING
As if warming up for the G8 and Faslane Blockade Glasgow Anti-War Action have taken-on Defence Storage and Distribution Agency (DSDA) in Beith, Ayrshire.
The protesters unfurled a banner which said: "DSDA, Making a Killing". They called on employees to walk out and for the depot to be used "positively".
Glasgow Anti-War Action spokesman Pat Freeborn said the action resulted in two gates being locked.
"The bomb factory at Beith contributes to the mass militarisation of Scotland and Britain's dependence on its military.
If it’s military installations your looking for, Scotland UXB have published the Scottish CND’s entire report “Fortress Scotland “ online. The interactive map lists and describes all the military bases http://www.scotland-uxb.org/fort1/mf1.html Surely a useful tool for any, eh, research required over the coming months?
The group launches on Friday in Govan, welcoming a delegation from Puerto Rico and opening a two-day conference on resistance to the military presence. Organisers say: “All welcome. There will also be a post-conference party with films by Indymedia and Camcorder Guerillas, and DJ Nimrdo 33 from Dundee. £3 or £2 on the door.”
