Jornada 1: Hercules vs Malaga
Last Sunday saw the season kick off for Malaga in La Segunda against Hercules (from Alicante) and one of several teams who fancy their chances for promotion this season.
In a tough match, Malaga ran out 1-0 winners after a headed goal from Counago in 61' after some dazzling wing play from one of several new signings, Calleja.
The only blot on this good victory away from home in a difficult fixture was that Malaga finished the game with 9 (that's nine!) yellow cards. The team will have to show a little bit more discipline in a league with 22 teams if they are going to last the course and regain the La Liga spot they deserve.
